          Fernando Ptrio is native from Porto Alegre, Brazil (RS). His relationship with music started in the very day of his born 03/23/79, but he got his first contact with a musical instrument only ten years after it. The catholic school where he studied used to offer to its pupils free workshops of musical theory after the curricular classes finishing. That was the context where Ptrio begins in fact a concrete and decisive relationship with music. Began to play bass at the age of 12. As a student Fernando had the chance to participate in workshops of musicians such as Egberto Gismonti, Toninho Horta, Dave Weckl, Michael Manring and Gary Willis.

1994
           He started his career officially with 15 years old playing themes of bands like Rush, Yes and Stanley Clarke, writting and giging in bars and night clubs of Porto Alegre.

1996
          FICA - Festival - received his first reward as a professional musician as the best composer and the best instrumentist.

1997
          Fernando Petry has created his own instrumental group performing in Porto Alegre and around Rio Grande do Sul. His friend Fughetti Luz, very well known local hero, proposed his idea on calling the trio as “Ptrio”, that became sort of Fernando´s nickname in Brazil and Europe.

2001 - 2005
          Graduated in Marketing by the Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Fernando also has developed a work composing and recording phonograms to the advertising market.

2005
          Fernando recorded his first CD called “Sete Luas” with fantastic critics on the internet and magazines, especially the Rock Brigade Magazine - edition 246.

2006
          Fernando recorded his second CD called “Sons do Confinamento” and has moved to Germany.

2007
          Fernando had the chance to perform with diferent groups in Austria, France, Spain, Sweetzerland, Poland, Lituania, Letland and Estland and musicians like Oliver Hahn, Robert Berry, Roberta Kelly, Tizian Jost, Marcio Tubino, Pedro Tagliani, Uli Geissendoerfer, Daniel Eppinger, Biboul Darouiche, Paulo Alves, Andy Lutter, Peter Kral, Mathias Engl, Oliver Frank, Phillip Staudt, Felix Jechlinger, Wolfgang Gohringer, Andi Kutschera, Tom Reinbrecht, Christoph Holzhauser, Cláudio Wilner, Augostino Catanzzaro, Michael Rokkos, Horst Neher, Bernhard Weithofer, Andres Schwarzer, Jason Jackson, Alberto Barreira, Ana Paula Leffa, Andrea Hermenau, Matthias Bublath, Fernando Paiva...

2008
         He performed live concerts at the Music Summer Jazz Week, Coburgo Festival and Freising Festival. He has also performed workshops in music schools around Munich, especially at the Bass Institute.

2009
          Mother Nature" is the title of the latest Ptrio´s studio record. The mix between afro-latin-jazz and rock is clearly presented in 12 tracks which shows his diluted influences and musical approach. This album is performed by musicians from Brazil, Germany, Cameroon and U.S.A. and was recorded in Germany in the beggining of 2009. In concerning the players involved on this record the main group features the saxophone player, composer and arranger Márcio Tubino, the percussion player Biboul Darouiche, the drummer Bernhard Weithofer and the piano player Uli Geissendoerfer.
